Betway delivers Christmas cheer for the elderly

Christmas came early for the residents at the Soweto Home for the Aged in Mofolo when Betway gave back to the community. Betway collaborated with Soweto All Stars FC and alongside some of the Betway 12th Man graduates and Ambassador Lucas Radebe festive cheer was delivered to the elderly residents.

Betway is dedicated to making a difference to communities across the country. On this occasion, food parcels were delivered to the home along with exercise equipment. In realising the importance of exercise against physical ailment the equipment will be used to get the elderly to lead a more healthy and active lifestyle. The day also included a physiotherapist who assisted with a variety of stretch exercises and ideas on how to keep fit and healthy.

Betway South Africa Marketing Manager, David Rachidi said:

“We are proud to have left lasting legacies for a number of the clubs and federations across the country, and today marks the conclusion of all the 2019 life-changing community initiatives from Betway. As  a brand we understand the significant role played by our elderly citizens and this donation is a small token of our appreciation to them. They have increasingly become our pillars of society that are raising our future sports stars.”

The Soweto Home for the Aged thanked Betway:

“We’re grateful to Betway for not only bringing food, but for also coming to spend time with the elderly. It is the personal interactions that make them feel part pf the community and not as isolated as they mature. May Betway continue to make the difference it has made here at the Soweto Home of the Aged.”

The festive giving did not stop there as Betway donated soccer balls and training equipment to the Soweto All Stars Club to help them prepare for the upcoming season.
